When I was in high school I saw this movie that had one of the best soundtracks ever, it was Angus. The movie never came out on dvd, but the soundtrack lives on as one of the best albums I’ve ever had the pleasure to listen to. On the album, alongside Greenday, Weezer, The Goo Goo Dolls, Ash, Smoking Popes and so many more came a female fronted pop rock band named The Muffs. From that point forward I started to listen to the band The Muffs, and the singer looked sexy to me, and her voice was so cool. Oh man, I was such a cool kid huh? This song “Really Really Happy” comes off the Muffs record of the same name from 2004. The band continues to work and tour, but not in the same capacity as when I first discovered them on the Angus soundtrack. Here is the official Muffs video “Really Really Happy”:
The Muffs also had a nice track “Kids in America” on the Clueless Soundtrack, which launched a lot of careers; if you pay attention. The singer is quite cute, and well, if you haven’t seen her, you should check her out. One of my personal favorite punk bands, The Huntingtons, did a cover of the song “Big Mouth” from The Muffs and it was awesome. If you’re curious, the song that was featured on the Angus soundtrack was “Funny Face” which is one of my all time favorite punk/pop/indie songs. I’m not a huge fan of a lot of bands with a female vocal lead, but The Muffs found a way into my heart. Awwww!
