The Boys Comic Book Series Ending

The Boys ends with 72If you’re interested in comic books at all, you probably looked into The Boys. The series is written by Garth Ennis and illustrated by artist Darick Robertson. Wildstorm originally started to publish it, then it was taken over by Dynamite Entertainment where it currently resides.

The backdrop of the stories is set in a modern world where superheroes are norm, mainly 2006 through 2008 etc. Instead of selfless heroes we get a series where the heroes are celebrities and frolic in that status of being, much like our celebrities act like today. They are essentially film stars in our world (real world).

Due in large part to the reckless behavior of the heroes, the CIA has created a squad called “The Boys” and they are completely in charge of monitoring the actions of the superheroes. The extreme violence and incredible adult content really is not for children, and can easily offend some over protective parents.

Now, the reason why I’m talking about The Boys today, is because it is going to be all over soon. The series will end with issue #72, and that’s that. Much like my beloved Scalped series, this one is going the way of the DODO. At this point, click here to check out The Boys, it’ll be worth your time, before it’s all said and done.
